Hippy: In the middle of the 1960s, a movement to promote Peace & Love emerged in the United States in opposition to the nation's participation in the Vietnam War and in support of greater civil rights for everyone.



As the hippies, as they were then known, used Flower Power to spread their message, the psychedelic floral patterns came to be associated with the cause.

Rainbow: The six colours seen in the rainbow designs of our modern communities have particular meanings: Red – life, Orange – healing, Yellow – sunlight, Green – nature, Indigo – serenity, Violet – spirit.
